Social networks also register a significant rebound never registered before. Knowing about ours is the main reason for using of the Messaging Apps. And free time at home makes access to social networks skyrocket.
We are more "hooked" to WhatsApp than before
The official data is that the use of WhatsApp in Spain has increased by more than 75% if we compare it with the use we had been doing just two weeks ago. This circumstance joins, as we say, to a global increase in internet use and also of the traditional television audience. And that has also led an increase in the use of Social Networks by 61%.
El Internet consumption has increased by more than 70% and from there derives the increase of all the applications and webs linked to the network. And of everything that is considered entertainment, as it results from the rise in television audiences up to 63%. All day at home makes all day we are "connected" or watching television among many other things. Something curious is that users consider that social networks are not a reliable means of information, so only 11% access them for this purpose.
What is most striking is el increased use of WhatsApp. Especially if we compare the data for Spain, with a 75% increase, with the data from the rest of the world, who stands at 40%. The published data come from study carried out by the data and analysis agency Kantar whose objective was to verify the influence of the current situation on internet consumption habits.
