Samsung will limit the battery of the Galaxy Note 30 to 7% in Europe

Samsung discontinues sales of Galaxy Note 7

Yesterday we told you that Samsung plans to disable the Galaxy Note 7 in the United States as of mid-December due to the fact that many users still refuse to return it despite the potential risk they pose. Now we also know that the South Korean company also plans measures to "encourage" European users to follow the same path.

Although for the moment they will not be totally disabled, the truth is that Samsung will limit the battery charge of the Galaxy Note 7 in Europe to only 30%, completely insufficient to be able to use the telephone.

Samsung has been urging people to return their Galaxy Note 7s for months and while most buyers have, the company is having a hard time forcing the most reluctant users.

Yesterday confirmed that a software update will be released in the United States on December 19, which will leave the Galaxy Note 7 unable to charge and function as a mobile device. Samsung is going ahead with that plan, although the largest mobile phone company in the country, Verizon, has announced that it will not publish this update on its network.

In Europe, Samsung is not disabling the Galaxy Note 7, but almost, because the company has prepared a new update that will be released from December 15 limiting the phone's battery charge to 30 percent. Previously, the company already sent an update to various parts of the world that limited the Note 7's battery to 60 percent, stating that this update "helped drive a high rate of return."

The company has not yet confirmed if it will paralyze the Galaxy Note 7 in Europe as well, but it is strange why it lets customers in this region continue to use the terminals, even with low battery, while in the United States it completely disables them.

Thus, Galaxy Note 7 owners in Europe should know that once their phone is updated after December 15, will not be able to charge the battery beyond 30 percent, a level that they will hardly reach at lunchtime, which will force many of them to participate in the exchange and refund program.
