Samsung is taking care of all the details for the Galaxy S8 After everything that happened with the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. He does not want his reputation to be damaged again, so that new flagship seems the spoiled child and from whom everything is expected to take the Korean company back to flight more on land than ever.
The most peculiar thing about this news is that at the dates in which we are, agreements are still being discussed with a Japanese manufacturer of batteries that could be the ones used in the Samsung Galaxy S8. And it is so, Samsung is in active talks with Murata Manufacturing, a Japanese battery company.
Amperex was the second supplier of batteries for the Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung blamed them for supplying faulty batteries, which explains that the Korean manufacturer is looking for alternatives before finishing assembling the units that will go to market.
The leading battery supplier will be Samsung SDIHopefully with enough lessons learned after the Note 7 investigation which indicated that faulty batteries and manufacturing were to blame for everything that happened with the Samsung phablet.
News leaker @evleaks claims that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be running on 3.000 mAh and 3.500 mAh batteries respectively. At the same time, the Korean media suggests capacities of 3.250 mAh and 3.750 mAh. Both variants would be adequate for a good autonomy for smartphones, which will have the peculiarity of having chips based on 10nm architecture. That architecture means better energy efficiency.
