After a long hiatus, the brand's first phones were unveiled in February 2017 at the Mobile World Congress, and millions of smartphones have since been sold. The confirmation came on September 2 and refers to the sales of the four devices currently on the market under this brand.
The IDC agency estimates that the Nokia brand is already in fifth place in Finland, and globally it would have a market share of 0,4%. The agency claims that, in the first half of the year, they sold 1.5 million smartphones.
Analyst Tomi Ahonen assured that 0.1 million smartphones were sold in the first quarter, only in China. Then, in June, when the global launch of mobile phones took place, 1.4 million units were sold.
Subsequently, in the third quarter, HMD Global sold approximately 2.5 million devices globally, and for the fourth quarter sales of 3.5 million terminals could be registered.
Ahonen estimates that the company is on the right track with forecasts of exceeding 10 million smartphones sold in its first year of existence. Without a doubt, this is a good figure that will surely improve next year with the arrival of the next Nokia 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 9.
