LG prepares its first smartphone with a perforated screen

Samsung Galaxy M40

The Turkish Patent Institute has awarded LG Electronics a patent for a smartphone with a front camera inserted into a hole in the screen. That would be the first LG phone with such a solution, provided it materializes.

As can be seen in the illustration below, the images found in the patent documents show a terminal with a punch hole placed in the upper left corner of your screen. This one also has a thick chin. The top bezel has an earpiece and some sensors.

The volume up and down buttons are present on the left spine of the phone. A button to invoke the AI wizard is placed below it. The button on the right edge could be to turn on the device. A 3.5mm audio jack seems to be present on the bottom of the device. It will be equipped with a microUSB port.

The rear design of the mobile registered by LG looks like the high-end LG V40 ThinQ from last year. It features a horizontally arranged triple camera setup that is accompanied by an LED flash next to it. A fingerprint scanner is available under the camera module.

Unfortunately, the patent application is not available in the regulator's database. Therefore, there is a possibility that it is false or that the listing is hidden from the public. It would be nice to confirm if the company is working on a phone with a new screen design. If it really exists, more details may emerge in the near future.
