Google Pixel has been launched and since Tuesday there has been non-stop talk about this phone due to the impact it has for Android manufacturers, competitors like Apple or for the operating system itself, since it will have certain exclusivities that not even the Nexus will be able to obtain. until some time passes. One phone at the height in the price to the Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhone which is receiving a barrage of criticism.
Luke Lin, chief analyst at Digitimes Reserach, has stated that it is expected that sell between 3 and 4 million from Google Pixel in the second half of 2016. Although this figure is considerably lower than those obtained by the iPhone 7, it will represent a significant sales influx for the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. Lin indicated that Pixel distributions will take between 40-50% of all the company's total sales by the second half of the year.
Although the Pixel was a smartphone designed between Google and HTC, it is demarcated as a Google product therefore all distributions from HTC to Google are considered as JDM (joint design manufacturing) by Digitimes Reserach and not framed within the HTC brand itself.
Lin indicated that there are several market analysts who have compared Pixel smartphones to iPhone 7 in terms of specifications, although sales with a higher volume of distributions for Apple phones will be another story. For the rest of HTC devices, they are expected to reach 6,5-7 million units by the second half of the year, 10% more than the 5,8-6,1 million units achieved in the first.
We will see if these figures are like this and Pixel is able to pass them in these three months that remain before reaching the end of the year.
