With the launch of Android 11, Google took the opportunity to release the Phone application, an application that could be installed on any another terminal managed by Android, which is not part of the Pixel family. This application has gone from being called Phone to finding it as Google Phone in the Play Store.
Android 11 brings a series of functionalities that are part of some applications. In the case of the Google Phone application, the search giant has introduced a series of functions, among which we have to highlight the so-called Verified calls, a function that blocks spam calls.
Every time we receive a call suspected of being spam, the application will show the phone number with a red background and under the text Suspect spam. In this way we can avoid obnoxious marketing campaigns who call after hours and incidentally, block those numbers so that they do not contact us again. In addition, thanks to the wide coverage of Google services, we can also know which is the company that is calling us and in addition to knowing what the reason for the call is.
Adding the tagline "by Google" is a fairly common move in recent years in each and every one of its applications, as it allows the user to quickly check if the application that is being downloaded it really corresponds to what Google offers and not an imitation.
For now, the Messages application, still does not receive the tagline "by Google", so it will be a matter of time, especially now that it can be installed on any Android device in order to take advantage of the functionalities that it offers us with respect to the RCS rich text messaging platform.
