Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are working to bring us the definitive solution to share files by proximity. That is, you have your colleague to whom you want to pass x file and you do it in a matter of seconds thanks to the peer-to-peer protocol.
Surely it has happened to you that you want pass a video to a colleague and between the Bluetooth pairing, that if we do it with the WiFi or that you run out of battery, in the end you tell him, look later from home I will pass it on to you. The idea of these three companies is to give a quick solution to avoid all these wastes of time.
The protocol for transferring files to a speed of 20 megabytes per second would be using Bluetooth to pair the phones and the WiFi connection to transfer them. It has been Xiaomi who has given the news in a post on WeChat from its official MIUI account.
Not only do they want to stay with these three manufacturers with the technology, but they have the door open for others to jump on the train and join your alliance. Some similar solutions are Apple's transfer with AirDrop, Google's with its Files and Android Q, which will launch a new feature called Quick Share to replace Android Beam.
The curious thing about this technology from the three Chinese manufacturers is that they will need their own protocol to be used on their phones, since Quick Share o Fast Share is linked to Google Play Services, so we will see what its final output is. We are talking about the fact that as long as you do not have a telephone number from one of the three, it will not be useful to use that protocol.
It will be for later this month when a beta of this solution from Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo appears so that you can quickly share files with your friends and not be there looking at your phones like fools.
