Wiko Highway Star, 5 ″ inches, 4G for € 299

The Wiko company has presented its new high-end device, the Highway Star. We could see this device during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the company's stand along with other devices. Now it reaches the Spanish market betting on a powerful terminal and at an adjusted price compared to the competition.

This new device from the French company proves that it can compete against smartphones of the same range from other manufacturers, thanks to its well-kept aluminum design and promising specifications. Thanks to this, the terminal becomes Wiko's high-end device.

The Highway Star will feature a 5 ″ inch AMOLED display with resolution at 1280 x 720p, inside we find a eight core processor with 64-bit architecture and 1,5 GHz clock speed manufactured by MediaTek together with 2 GB RAM memory. Among other important features we find that the terminal has Gorilla Glass on its screen, it has 16 GB of internal storage expandable to 64 GB through the microSD slot and a 2.450 mAh battery.

Regarding the photographic section of the terminal, we find two cameras, a 13 megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor with basic functions and HDR, with flash, Autofocus and that records at 1.080p at 30 frames per second. Regarding the front camera, we find a somewhat more basic camera, 5 MP, which will be ideal for taking selfies and which also incorporates a flash.

The dimensions of this terminal are 141 x 71,4 x 6,6 millimeters, a weight of 123 grams and a thickness of 6,6 mm. The terminal has LTE / 4G and DUAL-SIM connectivity and is made of metal. The device is in pre-reservation at a 299 price € and when it is no longer in pre-reservation it will do so at a price of € 349.

As a negative point of this device in the absence of testing it more extensively is that the Wiko Highway Star will run under Android 4.4.4 KitKat under the company's own customization layer, the Wiko UI. This point is somewhat disappointing because we are talking about a high-end device that does not carry the latest version of Android, although the company will probably decide to update the terminal a few months after its release on the market. And to you, What do you think of the terminals of the Wiko company ?
