All these days he has managed to be in the information spotlight. The truth is that Uber for Android has become famous in Spain. Even if it is based on criticism and accusations of unfair competition, or demands for immediate closure. For now, it remains on Google Play, and has even started a new beta phase for a future update that would improve it, so I don't think the developers are thinking about an upcoming closure of what is their business. In any case, precisely because of the much controversy it is generating, and because we may still have some of our clueless readers who have not heard about the matter, today in Androidsis, we talk about Uber. Let's start by explaining, for those who still don't know what it is Uber for Android. Uber is an application that allows any user of it to reserve a private car at a certain time and in a certain place to make a journey of their choosing. That is, a service very similar to that offered by a taxi, only in this case it is not carried out by a taxi driver, the price is imposed directly by the app, and also the payment must be done, necessarily, through it. And of course, no taxes or salaries are paid, nor are there registrations in Social Security for those who dedicate themselves to this.
Although it is not the first time that an attempt has been made to sell the Uber service like the many others that operate in our country to share a car, the differences are abysmal. In fact, a server declares itself a fan of the previous ones, and totally against the use of an application as harmful as Uber. Precisely the controversy is in comparing both platforms, and come to the conclusion that behind the one that is the object of our analysis today there is a clear economic desire, a commercial activity itself and no type of security on the table. A driver of what the application offers us acts directly as a taxi driver, although he does not pay for his license, he is not registered as self-employed and he does not pass the controls that vehicles used for public transport have to pass. In addition, it is Uber who pays him once we pay for the service, after withholding his commission.
Against all this, that in my opinion, and also that of many users who express it in Google Play itself, criticism is served, and the subject has even been discussed in the traditional media. The Barcelona taxi drivers protest It has also raised the tone and marks the need for digital regulation that should explain in greater detail what a business is in itself, and what is a simple way of sharing expenses without direct economic benefit for either party they share.

But Uber seems to care little about what taxi drivers think, what the media bring to light, and the many criticisms that have fallen on Google Play. Rather, they try to continue as if nothing, while it lasts. In fact, they have already invited the users of their current application to a new beta for Android in which they are supposed to improve the application, although at no time do they consider a system change that includes security for the client and on Everything, comply with current Spanish laws that oblige everyone who does paid work to declare taxes and pay their Social Security contributions.
As always, good for some and bad bad for others, more submerged economy and fewer people who contribute to social security, pensions are being shortened.
