Last summer I discussed five alternatives to the most popular explorers such as Chrome or Firefox, although these were new web browsers that have arrived at the Play Store with the desire to take away a good number of users from the most famous ones. The five web explorers that I bring today in this entry already have their experience and are the best that can be found in the Play Store.
If I am looking for 5 alternatives to Chrome for Android it is by integrating it as the default browser in many terminals. There is nothing to say about Chrome as it has speed, versatility and has an interface that is a pleasure to move through it, but alternatives can always be found that take us through other paths and through other sensations, this is one of the great virtues with which we have on Android. Let's see what these 5 alternatives have in store for us as web browsers.
Maxthon
Before I start with the most popular protagonists, I start with Maxthon, a web browser that has been presented as real competition for Chrome and others. He stands out for being an explorer who has good characteristics, good speed and some benchmarks that have him as one of the rivals to beat by others although his name is not the best known.
Its interface is very clean and the care it takes for the design is to be appreciated. In terms of performance, it is on a par with those presented in this post and stands out above all in the speed with which it loads websites. Its features include quick access, "My Cloud Tabs" that allows the transition between different devices, reading mode and some small features such as gestures to navigate or wizard to capture screen.
Firefox
Firefox takes a silent path on Android since it was introduced from its popular web version. It has been updated appropriately and little by little has managed to rise as one of the best web browsers that we can install on our phone.
Aesthetically it has several points in its favor with an interesting user interface. In terms of performance, we are facing one of the best, either in web loading or javascript performance. A negative point may be its high background load since it takes 100MB of RAM.
Its most striking features range from save pages to PDF, web save reading list to read later, guest mode and an extensive system of extensions to offer more functionalities for one of the best web browsers.
Dolphin
If before Firefox took the position that it has today, we wanted a high-quality browser, this was Dolphin. Another great explorer who takes his time with us and that stands out for its traditional interface, excellent navigation and that it contains a good repertoire of functionalities as it is one of the apps in this category with the most experience on Android.
In itself it is a great explorer, but in terms of performance it may leave something to be desired compared to others. Nothing that does not allow us to take advantage of it as our favorite explorer, but if you are used to the speed of Chrome it may show.
Where it stands out is in its batch of features. For what is the gesture navigation, voice search, volume key settings for browsing through the web and high speed in HTML5 make it a browser that offers a very good user experience. An excellent web browser.
Opera
Opera is the perfect browser for when one has to use the 3G / 4G data connection. With its "off-road" mode it will help you to safeguard data although you have to count on that Chrome already has a similar option. Opera was once the perfect browser for older devices and this remains the same.
In performance stands out like others and it has no really negative points at all. He's an experienced web browser and it shows. Its great feature, without any doubt, is its interface which allows you to browse the internet in a wonderful way. Without forgetting its "speed dial" which was one of its greatest qualities against the competition.
Opera will continue with us for a long time.
Javelins
If I started with an explorer that you probably did not know, now I end with Javelin, another new addition but that has managed to position itself as a great web browser. Its success with Material Design is one of its great facets, although it must be said that the distribution on its side panel could be in another way more appropriate.
A web browser that behaves quite well in different situations when one surfs the net and that has to its user interface as one of its best qualities. Like Firefox, it uses a fair amount of memory in the background.
Javelin has a feature that another of the best web browsers such as Link Bubble has. It will load the links found in other apps in the background so that when they are fully charged, you can launch them with a simple press. Another great web browser.
I mean that I have used all these and all the others that are in the play store (at least I have tried about 15 ..) and Javelin is the one that has run the best :).
