Waze knows that not all junctions or intersections are the same. There are those who only have to wait for our turn to go through them, while there are others who require all our concentration and attention that can cause a lot of stress every time we get to them. This is what happens to the residents of Los Angeles and that is why this service has launched an update to avoid the so-called "Complicated Crossings."
What this characteristic basically achieves is to minimize "contact" with this type of complicated crossroads so that we can avoid them in some moments that we do not want to focus all our attention to get out of that intersection gracefully. The objective is reduce fatigue at the wheel for the driver and that on certain routes or trips can come in handy.
Waze has worked closely with the local Los Angeles map editor as well as community employees from the Citizens Connected program to identify the most problematic areas. They were even able to find alternative solutions for redirect drivers of those intersections.
It is quite clear that changing the route to the driver can lead to a delay in minutes, but sometimes it's better than not getting on your nerves by whistling every car that gets in front of us. In any case, this feature can be disabled for users who are in Los Angeles, since it is active for them by default.
The idea is to extend this feature to other cities around the world and it will also depend on the Waze community to identify them and sue her. An update that arrives locally as is the indication of the maximum speed allowed.
