Vivo is re-launching a new mid-range smartphone. This one arrives as Live Y73s and it presents interesting characteristics and technical specifications worthy of its segment, but not without wasting 5G connectivity and coming equipped with one of the most recent Mediatek mobile platforms, which is the Dimensity 720.
This device, among many other things that we highlight below, also has a three-sensor photographic module led by a 48 MP lens. In turn, the design is a little more of the same, so at the level of appearance we do not have great news.
All about the Vivo Y73s, the new mid-range
To begin with, the Vivo Y73s is a terminal that makes use of the typical mid-segment notch design. This leaves us with a notch in the shape of a drop of water on the front and reduced bezels that make use of a somewhat pronounced chin to differentiate it from the other frames. Inside this there is a 6.44-inch diagonal AMOLED technology screen and FullHD + resolution of 2.400 x 1.080 pixels, which makes it possible to have a slim 20: 9 display format.
The processor chipset that is housed under the hood of this smartphone is, as we already said, the Dimensity 720 by Mediatek, an eight-core that is capable of working at a maximum clock frequency of 2.0 GHz and comes with the Mali-G75 GPU. It is also paired with an 4GB LPDDR8X RAM and 2.1GB UFS 128 internal storage space, which unfortunately cannot be expanded using a microSD card as there is no available slot for it.
To this we have to add a 4.100 mAh capacity battery that supports 18W fast charging technology via a USB-C port. Besides, in terms of connectivity options, the Vivo Y73s offers a dual SIM slot, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The camera system of this mobile is triple. The sensor that is presented as the protagonist of it is one of 48 MP with aperture f / 1.79 and is paired with two others, which are an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens with a field of view of 120 ° and aperture f / 2.4 and a 2 megapixel portrait lens with f / 2.4 aperture. On the other hand, for taking selfies, video calls and facial recognition, among other things, there is a shutter located in the notch of the screen consisting of a resolution of 16 MP with aperture f / 2.0.
A bit more in-depth on photography, the phone supports features like night mode, macro shots, 10x digital zoom, EIS, and 4K video recording.
The operating system that this mid-range comes with is Android 10, but not without FunTouchOS 10, the customization layer that the Chinese manufacturer usually implements on its smartphones. There is also an in-display fingerprint reader.
