Funtouch OS 9.0 is Vivo's customization layer and is based on Android Pie. This brings new features not seen before in its previous versions, such as the Always-On display function, revamped UX, dark mode and various performance tweaks.

Based on the new operating system release schedule, all of last year's core Vivo devices, which are the ones listed above, will receive the Funtouch OS 9 public beta update in July 2019.
This customization layer offers heavy customizations, such as the aforementioned mods. In detail, the Chinese smartphone maker added 72 functions and 55 optimizations under the hood. The user interface is tuned to provide a better user experience, with better fonts, icons, and animations, as well as even greater fluidity.
The roundness between the icons and the curves make it perfect for smartphones with FullView display. The new interface of wallpapers and apps is improving the overall productivity of the device. Features such as the always-on display and dark theme make it easier for Funtouch OS 9.0 users to have more clarity and precision, compared to its previous editions.
