A few hours ago we were showing you how to update GTalk to Hangouts so you could use this great app fresh out of the oven of I / O 2013.
Google has just added a note on the application page on Google Play advising that if you are not able to install Hangouts on your phone or tablet, or with the "Open" button in the Google store, it will lead you directly to the old application Talk. In that same note he responds that you should not worry because Hangouts will appear on your devices during the next few days.
Let's hope that Google appears, because at the moment you are being the world showcase and you should try to solve this setback immediately, otherwise would be a big blur at launch of this important application when collecting several courier services in one.
The inability to use Hangouts and having to use Talk on our phones it's not the only headache that Google is suffering, in most tablets it has not been possible to start the application, even from the web interface of Google Play it has been impossible to install it.
Many have tried to install it and there have been very few who have been lucky enough to open it on their tablets and most users are finding it impossible to use HangoutsWhen at this time of day, on the second day of I / O, we should all be enjoying with friends and family this, supposedly, wonderful messaging service, whose launch, for the moment, is leaving a bad taste in our mouths.
The problems not only do not end here, but in Google+ there is another setback: Hangouts was going to replace Messenger on Google+ for Android, at some point, but hasn't yet, and Google's Ben Eidelson has explained why:
«Many people have asked how Messenger would be affected by Hangout, Google's new messaging product launched today that would replace the Messenger functionality. We are working as quickly as possible to bring you the history of Messenger conversations to Hangouts. Until then we will keep Messenger available for Google+ users in the Android version on the mobile.»
Different problems on different devices and I guess all of this Google should have foreseen it by unifying so many services in one, and have worried even more about the launch, knowing what awaited them in these days of I / O 2013.
We will not be cruel giving you a few days so that you can solve the existing problems with Hangouts, we all know that in this world of development and launch of applications there can always be the possibility of such setbacks appearing with those that had not been counted in the beginning.
It is not a joy that in these two days that we carry I / O, one of the applications that was going to give the note the most, can not reach all users and many wonder what happens. If any of you are having this problem, indicate it here in the comments.

I managed to install it from the web on my nexus 4, but nothing at all on the nexus 7 and on my mother's xperia. We will have to wait. The application is fine but ... something is missing. That is my impression. Maybe I got too used to Line, which is more complete. I was also put off by the way I see contacts. I hope they improve the application, especially because my mother prefers Talk to any other for its simplicity.
In my Xperia Z it is not installed either and I will now look at the Nexus 7, hopefully they will reach all devices these days because otherwise it will be a big disappointment ... 🙂 You were lucky with the Nexus 4, there have been very few who have managed to install Hangouts!
I installed it on Galaxy S2 from the web and I have already removed it ... I am staying with Talk and until they "force" me I will continue like this. Hangouts is not intuitive or practical at all. The contacts of your circles that you follow if you are a fan (as is my case) also appear.
Of course, on the Nexus 7, installing it is impossible at the moment.
If you have installed and uninstalled it in one day you cannot have tried it much, I do not know where you see the problem of the application, it is just as intuitive as gmail.
"Of course, on the Nexus 7, installing it is impossible at the moment." Well, I must be God because I have achieved it.
Gmail is a mail manager, this pretends to be a messaging service, which does not leave a clean contact list. Gmail for its part, yes.
Leaving aside the missing functionalities (no longer in the area of contacts) it seems to me a precarious tool. Surely in the future it will improve, but at the moment it does not seem to me that it can compete with other services, as is intended by Google.
I had it from the first moment it came out (more than a day now) and for the time that I have dedicated to it, I have given my opinion.
Congratulations on being able to install it on your Nexus 7, but my comment says that at the moment it has been impossible. And I have not been the only one Today, indeed, it is already possible.
The truth is that they have been quick to fix the problems, a pity that they have not taken advantage of the pull of having launched fully functional Hangouts
On my xperia U it installed without any problem
LG Optimus 3D, Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 without problems.

The update for my lg l3 has arrived but it weighs 22 mb, it is too much memory, also I can't move it to external memory and I already have too many large applications installed so I uninstalled it
I have it installed but at the moment the status updates, or messages take 20 minutes to arrive / send
I'm not cool at all. It doesn't show me the status of the contact. For those who are mobile there is no problem, but those contacts that only connect by PC, it is a big problem if you use it to work.
for those who use google + on a computer this new integration of hangout with chat makes it impossible to know which contact is available to start a conversation, it is a disappointing error
I don't think Hangouts stays that way, if they have unified services they will improve it with updates, two days ago it couldn't be installed, we will have to leave them some time yet! They are not rookies at this, of course 🙂
Since I have it on my tablet, they do not reach me, they only arrive on my mobile and I don't know what happens to my hangouts, it is very strange that on my mobile it goes very well and on my tablet it does not work.
