Twitter will support the GIF keyboard of Android 7.1

Twitter

Although the 7.1 update of Android Nougat, the new version of Google's operating system for mobile devices, did not include an excessive volume of news, it is true that it brought some noteworthy features, such as the possibility of insert GIFs directly into conversations through certain keyboard apps like Gboard, the Google keyboard.

However, this novelty did not imply a change in the whole system, but it is a characteristic that is based on the use of an application and that each application must have supported. And this is precisely what it looks like Twitter just do, "Enable switch" that supports direct insertion of GIFs.

As we have been able to read on the 9to5Google website, and as previously communicated by a Reddit user, the latest version still in beta of Twitter for Android, version 6.33.0 - beta.556, now supports GIF keyboard.

To enable this new functionn that has not yet been released in a general or official way, you must meet a series of requirements such as having a device that runs Android 7.1, having the latest beta version of the Twitter application for Android installed, and also having a keyboard compatible, such as Google's Gboard or Chrooma keyboard.

The Android application of the blue bird social network already includes a search for GIFs which is very useful, however, it is limited to the GIPHY source; now, with the Google option, the possibilities extend to a couple of additional sources to GIPHAnd, which will allow users to have a greater variety of GIFS to enliven their conversations.

With this feature already appearing in the beta version, it is quite likely that the function will become official in a future stable version of the app, perhaps the next.
