The Xiaomi Mi5 and MI5 Plus could arrive with Snapdragon 820

According to a report published today and where the PhoneArena technology portal has echoed the news, Xiaomi would equip its new terminals, the Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus, with the new processor from the manufacturer Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820. In addition, the report comments also that both devices will not go on the market until Autumn, July being the month chosen to present their new terminals.

These devices have been leaked more than once, but the truth is that each rumor tells a different thing, so we do not know with certainty which rumor will be the most reliable. Be that as it may, we expect a lot from this terminal and it seems that Xiaomi is not going to disappoint us and will follow the same strategy as its little brothers.

The new Mi5 and Mi5 Plus will have a front with hardly any side bezels or what is the same, it will barely have frames on its screen. This new rumor suggests that these devices will have the new Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 820. A processor that comes to solve the overheating problems of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 810. In addition to this SoC, it is expected to use the 14-nanometer FinFET process, giving better performance and battery management to the devices that mount this processor. The introduction of this new processor will mean that the device will not be on the market until the end of 2015.

Regarding the possible specifications, we find that the Mi5 will have a 5,2 ″ inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 with two variants depending on its internal storage. The first one will be 16 GB and will have 3 GB of RAM and the second variant will have 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. Among other important specifications we find a 16 MP camera, battery of 3000 mAh and fingerprint scanner. Regarding the possible characteristics of the Mi5 Plus, we see how the device will incorporate a 6 ″ inch screen with resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, the same as the normal version, 4 GB of RAM and a 20 MP camera.
