After the cancellation of MWC 2020, the GSMA has released an official statement offering the new date for the next event and it also offers information about the refund of part of the amount to the exhibiting companies. Part of the expenses and the total will be reimbursed in some cases.
Companies that have deposited up to 5.000 pounds will have a full refund, while if a higher amount was invested, they will receive a partial refund. Companies that are not satisfied with this refund system will have a discount in the next three years, from 2021 to 2023.
Customers with expenses up to £ 5.000 will have one of two options:
Option One: Cash Equivalent to 100 Percent of Fees Paid in 2020
Option two: Discount of 125 percent of the fees paid in 2020 for the next three years:
MWC2021: 65 percent fee credit
MWC2022: 35 percent fee credit
MWC2023: 25 percent commission credit
Customers with expenses over £ 5.000 will have one of two options:
Option one: Cash equal to 50 percent of the fees paid in 2020, with a maximum limit of 150.000 pounds
Option two: Discount of 125 percent of the fees paid in 2020 for the next three years:
MWC2021: 65 percent fee credit
MWC2022: 35 percent fee credit
MWC2023: 25 percent commission credit
Will refund the amount of the tickets
In addition, The GSMA also makes it official that it will return 100% of the amount of all tickets to all those who have purchased the pass from February 24 to 27. But the GSMA has wanted to go further, it will keep the same price and neither lower nor raise the cost in the 2021 edition.
Date for the Mobile World Congress 2021
The GSMA calls us to the next edition of MWC 2021 that will take place in Barcelona from March 1 to 4. The different manufacturers will therefore have enough time to prepare their next new flagships to show it at the largest telephony event, the Mobile World Congress.
