Galaxy S9 gets September update but not One UI 2.5

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +

At the end of August we published an article in which we informed you of the Samsung announcement in which it stated that both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 would receive the customization layer currently available on the Galaxy S20. We are talking about One UI 2.5, an update that it will take a long time to arrive.

The Korean company Samsung has just launched the security update for the month of September for both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 +, an update that only includes security fixes and whose firmware number is G96xFXXSBETH2.

According to different sources from the SamMobile medium, Samsung is testing the update of the customization layer of the Galaxy S9 and S9 + of One UI 2.5, although at the moment they do not know what could be the expected release date of the final version.

Both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 + will not receive Android 11 and the personalization layer that it includes, One UI 3.0. Samsung announced a week ago that it was expanding the number of devices that would receive three versions of Android, but unfortunately the Galaxy S9 and S9 + were not among the lucky ones, but if the series A terminals launched in the last year, in addition to the S series from the S10, the Note range from the Note 10, the tablets to starting with the Tab S6 series and the entire folding range.

This update is available through the terminal configuration options, in the Software Update section and clicking on Download and install. If it is not yet available in your country, you can download it through the SamMobile guys' website and install it with the help of a PC. Although the process is not very laborious or complicated, it takes time and it is advisable to follow all the steps and make a backup beforehand in case the process fails at some point so as not to lose the content that we have stored in it.
