A few months ago, the Korean company announced that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge range stopped receiving quarterly updates and these were becoming sporadic. However, the Galaxy S7 have been in and out of Samsung's quarterly security update program.
The Galaxy S7 has received the new security update, presumably the S7 Edge will receive it shortly. This new update, whose firmware number is G930FXXS6ESIS is now available in both Puerto Rico and Uruguay. It is appreciated that the company is worrying about the safety of the users of these terminals.
Samsung has been accused many times of disparaging users with older terminals, but this new move only does confirm Samsung's commitment to its customers. The only reason to launch a new security update for these terminals is probably due to important security flaws that have been detected in the Android versions and the customization layer that they integrate.
Moment The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are once again included in the quarterly update program but we don't know until when. It is likely that this new update is only available for a certain of countries and not for all models. For now, both users in Uruguay and Puerto Rico can now proceed to install this new update.
If you live in any of these countries and you have not yet received the corresponding security update, you can choose to download it manually through the configuration options, clicking on Software update. If you want to download it now, you can stop by the SamMobile website and download it from their servers to install it later through the computer, a somewhat complex process if you do not have the appropriate knowledge.
