They tracked down the pings and they came from a city near Chicago, which is the city where Motorola Mobility is based.

On the other hand, the screen resolution of this supposed new generation of the Moto 360 is 360 x 360 pixels, this being somewhat higher than the first version.
Smelt's name comes from Motorola's mania for naming its projects after fish, as happened with the company's first smartwatch that had the codename Minnow.
