The final version of Android O will arrive in August on the Google Pixel

Android O

Google has already released two Android O builds for various smartphones in the Pixel and Nexus ranges, but it seems that the final version of the new operating system will arrive later this summer, according to David Ruddock.

Google normally releases new versions of Android in the fall, but this time, the tech giant plans to release the new version a bit earlier. Thus, the official update to Android O for Google Pixel smartphones will arrive in the first or second week of August.

The update will apparently be delivered via OTA and will arrive on the Google Pixel and Nexus around the same date in August. This is information from a credible source, but changes to release dates can always arise for various reasons, such as finding problems in the operating system.

The Google Pixel 2 with Android O could debut in October

If Android O will be released in August, Google will likely launch the next generation of Pixel phones, called Pixel 2, a month or two after the arrival of the operating system, probably in October.

Last year's devices, the Pixel and Pixel XL, were unveiled in early October and Google could follow a similar schedule this year for the Pixel 2.

Android O doesn't have an official name yet, but the new operating system will have a feature that will allow the proximity sensor to automatically turn off the ambient display. In addition, you will also have adaptive icons and new circular emojis, and a Picture-In-Picture mode that will allow the reproduction of videos in floating windows, above any application.

Finally, Android O will arrive with improved features for restrict background application processes, there will be a new smart way to copy and paste by simply double-tapping on the text to select it in its entirety.
