Now the company has once again demonstrated the capabilities of its fast charging technology Super mCharge, and this time he did it at his own headquarters and in the presence of a Taiwanese journalist.

So as not to leave room for any mistakes, the journalist decided to take out his mobile to record the entire process and count the exact minutes it took for the new technology to recharge a battery from 0 to 100%.

Specifically, the journalist's chronometer stopped at 18 minutes y 12 seconds, at which time the mobile under test had reached the 100% charge. In addition, the journalist also said that during the whole process he repeatedly touched the device to check if it was getting hotter than normal, and it seems that the temperature remained constantly low.

According to a representative from Meizu's R&D department, the new Super mCharge technology has a conversion efficiency of 98%, which is the closest they could get to the theoretical limit of 100%. This just means that very little energy is lost through heat or other external factors during the charging process.

It is not yet clear what plans Meizu has with the new technology, and we also do not know when the first smartphones with Super mCharge support will arrive. The company is still conducting many experiments at the moment to ensure the safety of smartphones before implementing it on a larger scale.

But if I had to give an approximate date, I would say that Meizu phones with Super mCharge will arrive only at the beginning of next year, at which time we will surely see important advances in other fast charging technologies on the market, such as Qualcomm's Quick Charge or the Dash Charge from OnePlus.

    The problem of the charging speed of a mobile phone ... in short, of a lithium-ion battery, is not the conversion efficiency, but rather that the only way to make the battery's chemistry store energy faster is by increasing the voltage / amperage, which is awfully easy. The problem is that when you increase the flow of energy (through more amperage / voltage) the chemistry of the battery reacts by generating heat. And if it comes to according to what points it passes, what we have seen recently with the Note.

    As long as the chemistry of the batteries is still lithium-ion (and I don't read anything from Meizu about using other chemistry), the charging times are going to be similar. In fact, the current Quickcharge 'technologies' (which already has a crime to call that technology) is simply a standard temperature control protocol. As long as the battery does not exceed a certain temperature, the phone supports more voltage / amperage. But when it starts to heat up, it reduces that voltage / amperage until it reaches safe limits…. I mean, the 5v 2a max of a lifetime.

    There are thousands of companies and people developing this theme. With authentic absurdities of budgets. Among them, Samsung, Panasonic, Tesla ... Universities of the most prestigious, and some well-known institutes among other things for inventing the mp3 format ...
