Sony WENA smartwatch, with a very interesting strap

Smart watches are starting to take off and we are already seeing as time goes by, how large manufacturers are working on new models. One of the first manufacturers to launch a smartwatch was Sony. The Sony SmartWatch came under an Android operating system adapted by the company, its replacement was the SmartWatch 2 that improved the first generation but was still under an adapted system.

Finally and with the introduction of Android Wear, the third generation of the smartwatch, the Sony SmartWatch 3, came onto the market running Google's operating system for wearables.

Currently we see how there is competition in the smartwatch market. If we take a look around we see how there are different watches for different pockets, some with some features and others with others. But we are also seeing how the aspect of smart watches is taking care more and more, even bringing out high-end smartwatches and with some innovation in their characteristics.

Sony WENA, your bracelet is the most interesting

We could say that, in a few years, Android Wear will see low-end, mid-range and high-end devices. Precisely in this last range the competition is fair, so Sony would be determined to launch a more luxurious and innovative watch to be able to compete with devices of the highest range of Android Wear, such as the Moto 360, the new LG G Watch Urbane 2 or the Huawei Watch.

The funny thing about all this is that the smartwatch is smart because of its bracelet, since it has all the mechanism to notify the user through vibrations and an LED light. This new smartwatch bears the WENA name and has appeared at the CEATEC exhibition in Japan. This watch has a elegant design and looks like a traditional watch and throughout life, it hardly seems to be a smart watch, as you can see in the images.

The high-quality device will give us reports of our activity, we will receive notifications in the form of vibration, it includes NFC to pay with it, it has certification IPX5 and IPX7 and it is waterproof. All models measure 42mm in diameter and their battery can last up to 7 days on a full charge. This watch does not carry Android Wear since only its strap is smart, so it would connect to the Android and iOS device through the Bluetooth connection.

The Japanese wearable will have a price of about 34,800 ¥ up to 69,800 ¥ or what is the same, € 260 to € 515. This smart bracelet watch will be sold, for the moment and exclusively, in Japan from March of next year, although Sony could take it to other markets, but at the moment there is no confirmation about it.
