Something good and something bad that launches Android 5.0 Lollipop

Lollipop news

De Android 5.0 Lollipop, from its arrival at the terminals that had announced an imminent update, and also their first problems, we have already talked to you on our blog Androidsis. However, even with the excitement of trying for the first time what will be an operating system that changes many things, the news of the new features is giving a lot of talk in the world of the Internet. In this case, we wanted to take a look at everything that is said about what is new, for better and for worse. And without a doubt there are criticisms from all sides, but two new options that to date had not been part of the search engine's OS have particularly caught my attention.

How I want to be impartial in all this Android 5.0 Lollipop launch affair I have not wanted to stay only with the good or the bad, so I have opted to tell our readers what the two characteristics are, a good and a bad one that are giving more to talk about among everything that is included as novel within the new version of Android. Although I will explain everything in detail below, I will give you a hint before the jump. The good thing has to do with being able to communicate with Google directly. The bad, with the disadvantages of having root on your phone. Are you curious? Well, keep reading!

The good in Android 5.0

I do not mean with this subtitle that there are no more good things in Android 5.0. But it must be recognized that many of them were already known to us previously, either because of the official presentation of Google, good for what had been leaked in networks. However, until now an option that seems particularly interesting to me has been left in the dark for two reasons. It is the native possibility of sending communications to Google. In the General Settings section, within the About the phone, an option should appear in which you will be able to send data, problems or suggestions to our friend from Mountain View. With this, on the one hand the user can make their own contributions and resolve their own doubts, in case the service is managed in a good way. On the other hand, Google will have access to a lot of information, sent by its own users, with which it could implement great improvements. What do you think about the idea?

The Bad in Android 5.0

But we said we weren't going to praise Android Lollipop no more. The complaints in this case, not the problems related to the latest Android versions, have focused on the impossibility of receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update via OTA in case we have a rooted device. Apparently, from Mountain View the security protocols have changed, and while before the over the air updates ignored if the folder of the / system partition had any type of modification related to the unlocking, from this new version they will review it. That implies that when you root, and therefore modify the root folder, Google will detect it and will not send that OS update to our terminals, since this file will be required to be as factory for the update.

Still, the solution to this new impediment is not difficult. All you need to do is flash a fully stock system image. But Google's proposal, despite this, has not liked much to those who they want root on their terminals.

Actually, if you send Ota to root devices, what it doesn't do is install it.
