This year has been the one of the trick of Samsung and Qualcomm with the chip Snapdragon 835, since they have forced the manufacturers to delay your releases not being ready enough chips to be implemented in the various high-end of the different brands. Samsung will have the first place on the grid for the Snapdragon 835, while the rest will come out a few seconds later, so that even LG has passed that race and stayed in the 820 or 821.
Of the Snapdragon 835 we already knew all its details, but we have been missing various benchmarkings to really know how it comes when it is integrated into a high-end Android. Right now the results of the Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998) have been published when going through the Geekbench database and shows an improvement when compared to those shared at the end of the year from the Qualcomm website. According to that new listing, Qualcomm's upcoming high-end chip scores an impressive 2.004 points in the single-core test, while the multi-core scores 6223.
Although the interesting thing is that the name of the test device is not available, although from the list, it indicates that it has 4GB of RAM and works with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Snapdragon 835 will be Qualcomm's next high-profile chip and is expected to be included in the Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6, and more.
The new published score shows a significant improvement over the previous results in which 1.844 points were reported for the single-core test and 5.426 for the multi-core test. Those tests were published already in the month of December and the test smartphone was the "Essential FIH-PM1". So possibly Qualcomm has been testing the chip in the past weeks to optimize the potential over those achieved by the Snapdragon 821.
The Kirin 960 of Huawei got 1.949 in the single-core test and 6.439 points in the multi-core test. There they go.
