During this last weekend, a large number of rumors have been published about the possible acquisition of Shazam by Apple, an announcement that was expected for Monday. For a few hours, the announcement has been confirmed directly by Apple, after paying just over $ 400 million.
So far, the collaboration between Apple and Shazam has been limited to the music identification service offered by Siri, Apple's assistant, an identification of songs that works much slower than those offered by Shazam directly with your application.
As usual, Apple has not informed about future plans after making this purchase, but it is more than likely that it uses the artificial intelligence that is responsible for recognizing the songs to improve the operation of Siri, a performance that continues to be one of the worst in the marketDespite the fact that the Cupertino-based company claims that its performance improves every year, something highly debatable from my point of view as a daily user of Apple products.

Alternatives to Shazam
At the moment we do not know if Apple will continue to maintain the service or will dismantle it as it did with Beats Music, the last great purchase that Apple made 3 years ago and for which it paid just over 3.000 million dollars. If finally Apple chooses to dismantle Shazam, in the Play Store we can find other applications that offer us the same service such as MusiXmatch or SoundHound.
