Every tech company has a favorite market, a market that makes it a reference within a sector. While Apple is the undisputed king in the United States, Samsung is the Asian area, according to the latest survey conducted by the Nielsen analysis company in Asia.
For the ninth consecutive year, Samsung is once again the most valued brand in 9 of the 14 markets analyzed. Apple surpasses Samsung in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan while in China it is widely surpassed by Huawei. Samsung is above brands such as Apple, Panasonic, LG, Nestle, Sony, Nike and Google among others.
The main reason why the Korean company continues to be a reference in the market in most of Asia is found in the wide variety of categories where it is present. Samsung leads the category of smartphones and televisions, in the category of computers and laptops, kitchen appliances, sound devices and wearables it is in the second position while the category of air conditioners and cameras occupies the fourth position. It is also present in the category of computer hardware, printers and software in fifth position.
Samsung is number one in 5 categories in this year's Top 1000 Brands survey, including the category most valued brand and new-to-2020, as the best brand related to environmental sustainability, where Apple is usually the leader worldwide.
One of the reasons that many of the users who have participated in this survey have argued, affirm that Samsung is continually innovating, as is the case of the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip and 5G technology, where during 2019, it was the company that sold the most smartphones with chips compatible with 5G networks.
Despite having had to deal with the coronavirus, Samsung's financial results have grown 23% during the second quarter of 2020, primarily driven by its smartphone, consumer electronics and memory businesses.
However, it cannot be neglected since despite the fact that its main rival, Huawei, has fallen from third to seventh in terms of sales worldwide, other brands such as Oppo and Vivo are growing by leaps and bounds in recent years and it is gaining the ground that Huawei has lost.
