Samsung begins mass production of eUFS 3.1 storage

eUFS 3.1

Samsung just announced the start of the mass production of eUFS storage units 512GB with 3.1 technology and that will be used in its new high-end that it will launch from today.

In this way, the Korean company will be able to offer write speeds three times faster compared to the previous 512GB eUFS 3.0 and that with it breaks the 1GB / s performance figure in storage from a smartphone.

As Cheol Choi, Executive Vice President of Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics, comments, the brand introduces advanced storage technology that enables users to avoid those bottlenecks they face with standard memory cards.

eUFS 3.1

This technology offers 1.200MB / s sequential write speeds, which leads to doubling the speed of SATA technology seen in PCs with its 540MB / s and up to 10 times the speed of a UHS-I card with its 90MB / s.

These speeds offer the user to enjoy a great speed of writing and be able to move 8K video files or move a bunch of image and video files on your phones at once. We speak that the new mobiles with this 3.1 technology will need 1,5 minutes to move 100GB of data when with the previous technology with UFS 3.0 they require more than 4 minutes.

This technology also excels in random performance, eUFS 512GB 3.1 processes up to 60% faster than version 3.0, to provide up to 100.000 I / O operations per second for reads and 70.000 IOPS for writes.

Apart from the 512GB model, Samsung also has capacities of 128 and 256GB for its high-end that will be launched later; and here include that it would be the Note 20 that would enjoy these speeds.

All an advance on the part of Samsung and that it will allow us to fly with those speeds blazing fast to flip files, play 8K videos and more
