Samsung Cloud stops syncing keyboard data

SwiftKey

The third-party keyboards that we have at our disposal in the Play Store, not only allow us to write in another way (mainly through gestures) but also, they learn from our way of writing to suggest words to us. This information, as well as the words that we add, are synchronized in the cloud.

Thanks to this synchronization, if we launch a new smartphone, when we reinstall the application, it will automatically download the data stored in the application so that we can continue using it as at the beginning. In the case of Samsung smartphones, this synchronization It is done through the cloud of the Korean company.

At least until now, since it has stopped. At the moment we do not know if it is due to a specific error, a bug in the last update or that Samsung has stopped offering it. It all started with the update to One UI 2.1, Samsung's customization layer that it integrates in its high-end terminals, since this function is still available in all those terminals that today are managed by the previous version, Android 10 with One UI 2.0.

After updating to One UI 2.1, the function to be able to sync keyboard data has disappeared from all Samsung terminals With this version of the customization layer, terminals among which we find the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Fold range.

However, this function is still available in all those terminals with One UI 2.0, like the Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy A71 and Galaxy M31. If you use a Samsung tablet, with which you have synchronized the data, and you write regularly on both devices, it may be time to change the keyboard and opt for another that synchronizes the data with the Google cloud.

For now, Samsung has not commented on the matterTherefore, Samsung users can still hope that it is a bug, a bug that will be solved in future updates, either from the customization layer or through a security update.
