Redmi's mysterious new phone, said to be called Redmi Pro 2, it will arrive soon with the chipset Snapdragon 855, and before that happens, Redmi general manager Lu Weibing revealed in a new Weibo post some additional features of the device.
The next flagship, which could also be the cheapest device with SD855, will support NFC and wireless charging. It's worth mentioning that Lu even confirmed very thin bezels on the next device that would be arriving shortly.
Last month, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was spotted with the alleged Redmi SD855 smartphone. However, at that time the design was not very clear, but, thanks to subsequent confirmations, they verified the existence of the device.
Lu Weibing has already confirmed some features of the device, such as the existence of a 3,5mm audio jack, a triple camera module, among others. It is more than obvious that it will be a high end, nothing more to carry Qualcomm's most powerful SoC.
A recently leaked video revealed his triple sensor camera setup with a fingerprint scanner on the rear. Aside from this, the front is expected to carry a full-view display with slim bezels, an impressive screen-to-body ratio, and a hole-punch camera, but unlike the Galaxy S10 series, this one will sit in the top center position and not in the corner.
The Chinese firm is frequently generating rumors about the Redmi Pro 2, but the identity and main specifications of the device are still under wraps. Some claim that the new phone may be official at the end of this month. Before that, Redmi will unveil the Redmi Y3 on April 24 with a 32MP selfie camera, a waterdrop notch, and a larger battery.
