Before the launch of the Note series, live photos that were supposed to be of the Redmi 8A appeared on the web, revealing the design and some specifications. However, the model number of that device is "M1908C3IH". A device with a similar model number, M1908C3IC, was certified by TENAA in August as well.
According to the TENAA listing and the leaked photos, the Redmi 8A will have a 6.2-inch display with a waterdrop notch. It will be powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. As an upgrade, it will have dual rear cameras with a 12 MP primary sensor. It will also have a fingerprint scanner on the back. The selfie camera is an 8 MP camera. Another big upgrade is a battery boost from 4,000 mAh to 5,000 mAh. It will run Android 9 and will be available in multiple colors, including black, red, blue, pink, and white.
On the other hand, Redmi 8 specifications and design are still unknown. We expect more details to emerge when Xiaomi starts shipping units to sellers.
