Xiaomi is releasing a new update for one of its most popular low-end devices. This is the redmi 4, a low-performance terminal that was launched in May 2017.
MIUI 11 in its stable form is the new firmware package that renews the entire interface of the phone. This one is already dispersing globally by scale and brings a ton of improvements and new features.
This turns out to be a surprise, as there are much newer Redmi and Xiaomi smartphones that are not yet receiving all the benefits of MIUI 11.
We said that the update is spreading globally and gradually, but now it is stagnant in India, the first country to which it arrived and from where the first reports have emerged that affirm that the OTA is already there. The screenshots above demonstrate what was said.
The shared screenshot shows that the new update comes with version number MIUI 11.0.2.0.NAMMIXM. It also shows that the update file is 483 MB in size. Interestingly, it does not bring a change in the Android version, as the Redmi 4 still runs the outdated Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). In addition, it brings the October 2018 Android security patch that Google released more than a year ago.
The changelog shared by some users on the MIUI forum shows that MIUI 11 offers improved touch controls and refined use of color to offer a fresh experience. The update also includes more nature-influenced sound effects. The update is also expected to improve the user experience by offering a minimalist design. Other features include an always-on lock screen and dynamic video backgrounds. Undoubtedly, the terminal takes a more renewed air thanks to it, but without getting very up to date.
