While some smartphones are getting Android 11 through their respective OTAs, the Realme C2 of 2019 is just getting Android 10 update in its stable form.
The terminal with low performance and economic price, remember, was launched in April 2019 with the Android 9 OS version. Since then, the Chinese firm had promised the Android 10 OTA update for 2020, but this did not reach the phone until now.
The Realme C2 finally receives the Android 11 OTA
At the end of September last year, the Chinese manufacturer began recruiting beta testers for the Android 10 update for the Realme C2. Therefore, it took more than four months for the company to deliver the stable update, which is the one that the smartphone is receiving now.
Even now, the realme UI update for realme C2 is only available to select users, according to the portal PiunikaWeb. In other words, it is being implemented in batches to avoid any mishap; This is so so that the signature, in case the OTA presents problems, can stop it more easily, without causing problems for many users. Therefore, it may take longer for the update to reach all drives; in question, it would take a few days or weeks for it to spread more widely.
That said, the update comes with firmware version C.53 and the January 2021 security patch. Also, It weighs in at around 2.1GB for stable channel users and just 164MB for those who were part of the beta program. Also, since this device is an entry-level smartphone, users will not find all the features of the Realme UI, which is basically ColorOS 7 with a few minor tweaks here and there.
