The 16 season of PUBG Mobile is about to end. There are a few days left, but before that happens, Tencent has already announced the release date of the next update of the popular battle royale, which corresponds to the version 1.2.
It is January 12 the day that the developer will begin to release this update. This one is loaded with a lot of news, improvements, bug fixes and optimizations that we will summarize below through the patch notes that were published by PUBG.

New modes, new experiences
Runic Power Gameplay (Jan 12 - March 7):
Players will be able to choose their rune energy type on Spawn Island. After having selected it, they will gain two abilities, which are as follows:
Fire rune:
- Summon Ability: summons a wheel of flame that moves slowly forward, dealing burn damage to enemy players it touches.
- Improve skill: adds a burning effect to your ammo for a short time.
Arctic rune:
- Summon Ability: Summons a wall of ice. Each block of the ice wall can be destroyed separately. When the ice wall appears, it will lift players or vehicles directly above them.
- Improve skill: adds a freeze effect to ammo for a short time. Freezing reduces the effectiveness of healing.
Rune of Wind:
- Summon Ability: Summons a semi-transparent wind shield that reduces damage from bullets fired from outside the shield.
- Improve skill: increase your movement speed and reload.
Power Armor Mode (Launches at EvoGround on February 5)
Reappear
- Teammates can respawn at Research Stations.
Power armor
- Power Armor Chest Piece: reduces chest damage and increases backpack capacity.
- Power Armor Arm Piece: reduces arm damage and increases melee damage.
- Power Armor Leg Piece: reduces leg damage and fall damage. Gives a fast running skill.
- Assembling the full Power Armor set unlocks his ultimate weapon, the Dragon's Breath Grenade.
Matrix events
- Matrix event 1: Better regional supply production.
- Matrix 2 event: Multiple Matrix releases and significantly higher supplies on each release.
- Matrix event 3: Life detectors at research stations are activated and can be used to detect surrounding players.
Metro Royale: Honor (starting January 12)
- The newest chapter.
- New Metro Royale honor system.
- New solo mode.
- Metro Royale improvements.
New firearms, new options
FAMAS
- A new assault rifle that uses 5.56mm ammunition. It can be loaded with 25 rounds and has the fastest rate of fire among rifles.
- It can be equipped with muzzle (rifles), scope and mag (rifles).
- It only appears on the Livik map, which is exclusive to PUBG Mobile.
Game performance and other improvements
Basic performance improvements
- Improved loading logic so packs open faster the first time they are opened.
- Improved the power consumption of high-end iOS devices to make devices less likely to overheat.
- Android users can use the incremental update feature to update game resources, significantly reducing the size of resource downloads required to start the game.
Security enhancements
- New Security Zone updates waiting for you to discover them.
- Improved hack detection for auto aiming, X-ray vision, long distance jumping, and movement speed cheats.
- Improved detection and protection against unofficial versions of the PUBG Mobile client.
Basic experience improvements
View model improvements
- The holographic view has been improved, which makes the model clearer for players.
- The X3 sight model has been improved to make it more natural.
Skydiving and landing action improvements.
- The landing animation has been improved to better match the speed at which players land.
- Made the landing process smoother.
Feature to cancel recharge
- Tap the fire button when reloading to stop reloading.
Firearm Balancing - Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Improvements
- Increased the damage of the Kar98K and M24.
- Shortened the interval between shots for the Kar98K and M24.
- Slightly increased the bolt action speed of the Kar98K and M24.

- RUNIC POWER themed interface and reward.
- RP missions have been revised to reduce difficulty and increase point rewards.
