Since it was officially launched in 2015, Prison Architect is one of the most popular and successful indie PC games which we now know is preparing its landing for Android.
Paradox Interactive, publisher of the acclaimed Prison Architect game brought to life by developer Introversion Software, has announced that both of them are already collaborating to launch a version for Android tablets soon.
Prison Architect: build and manage your own prison
Prison Architect be a game whose mechanics are based on the construction, operation and maintenance of a high security prison. Thus, the player maintains a privileged "superior view" of the prison and must build a prison from scratch, as well as keeping it up and running. To do this, they must also be in charge of managing both the guards and the rest of the staff that are part of the prison complex.
Obviously, another part of the game consists of managing the lives of the prisoners who will have to be closely watched, although you can also help their subsequent reintegration into society by launching different programs that also take away their desire to escape.
Introversion Software released a first alpha version of Prison Architect in 2012. This served to raise the necessary money that made it possible to continue with the development of the game until its final release in 2015. Since then, Prison Architect has reached users of the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 video consoles, with more than 2 million units sold worldwide.
Paradox Interactive, publisher of the game, has stated through a statement that Prison Architect versions for Android tablets and for iPad will be free however, they will also have additional content and updates available through in-app purchases.
