One of the functionalities that the smallest of the house enjoy the most in the Google Pixel is the Playground application and the augmented reality stickers, since they let your imagination run wild, even at the cost of a very high battery consumption (and I say this from my own experience).
Despite the functionality for the little ones, and not so little ones, Google has confirmed to Android Police that both the Playground application and the augmented reality stickers (Palaymoji) They are not / will be compatible with the new Pixel (4a) and later.
Google continues to bet on augmented reality through its own platform called ARCore, but want to create experiences that can serve a much wider audience, so the Pixel 4 is the last terminal to be compatible and include these applications natively.
Although the Pixel 4a includes Playground, the application is not available through Google Camera, as if we can find the entire Pixel range that Google has launched on the market before.
Google claims that it is focusing its platform on projects like 3D animals in search results, projects that are compatible with most smartphones (Android and iPhone) on the market not exclusively with the Pixel range, the only requirement being to have an updated browser.
Google has confirmed in the same statement to Android Police, that both functions were hardly used by users and is focusing its platform on applications related to art and culture where we can already find some applications of this type, the number available today is still very limited.
