Surely everyone knows the name Paranoid Android but for those who do not know, this group of developers are known for creating several ROMs that offer a wide variety of options to customize our smartphone and give it a different touch compared to other ROMs and even to the stock ROM of Nexus devices.
No doubt the world Android owes a lot to all those fans who are part of the developer community, since thanks to them many users have been able to update devices that seemed to be dead or give the latest version of Android to terminals that will never receive it officially.
Well, today the developer community has published that it will not support its Google Apps. A package of applications that improved in one way or another to the official Google applications. The author has announced the withdrawal in the XDA Developers forums, where he has also closed all the posts in which there was a follow-up of these applications, here you can read already translated what the developer has said in XDA:
«After being away from XDA Developers for some time, I have decided to take a long break from the support and maintenance of the Paranoid Android Google Apps. Although I leave the door open to a possible return, I close my threads here in the community for the moment. Also, even though my forum account will not be closed, I will probably not reply to direct messages from any user again.
Although applications developed by Paranaoid Android were much faster than the competition and with the opportunity to download Google Apps in different formats, such as downloading the full version of Google Apps, a reduced version with most used Google applications or a minimum version that only includes the Google Play store . But luckily, we found different Google Apps from other development communities such as Cyanogenmod or BasketBuild.
We do not know if Paranoid Android wants to distance itself from Google, make its own ROM without having anything from Google and follow the same trail as the Cyanogenmod group. But it is clear that within this group of developers something is brewing and we hope they will soon tell about it.
