Paper is Dropbox's new vision of how teams can work together

This week has been quite an important one for Dropbox, focused on its excellent cloud storage service, which has now launched a new collaborative tool called Paper.

Let's say what they were "Notes" has now become "Paper", and in its essence it is a set of collaborative tools so that teams can work when they have internet or not. Paper comes directly to compete against Google Docs in a way to extend the services it offers from its cloud storage that focuses heavily on files. This new series of tools will have their version for devices in the near future, so for the moment it appears as a web service more than anything else.

Like a blog

Paper appears first as if it were some kind of blog with a very simple interface with the ability to show files that have been uploaded and that you want to share with the workgroup you want.

Inside Paper we will find a list of documents, a series of folders, and a list of people we are following. You can put a list as a favorite to mark which files or folders or people we often visit, and we will have our own profile as if it were any other social network.

paper it is not a social networkThis must be made clear, and it is not intended to become something similar to other services such as Tumblr or Twitter. His fate is more towards something private where we can collaborate with certain colleagues to perform a function together.

Collaborating

Within the documents, users will be able to access different tabs, among which we find the recently modified documents, a tab for which the user has created, the documents shared with the user and a deleted tab. Like Gmail, the different elements that we have eliminated will not be definitively so until we wanted to delete them entirely. In this way we will always have the ability to return to its original state any one that we have made a mistake in its deletion.

Regarding text editing, it is mainly basic good where you can create bold or italic text. At the moment this is all in this regard, although you can insert documents such as images or videos, and you can also download documents. Something very similar to what we already have in the Dropbox system itself.

At the moment Paper is in a beta phase of development which can be accessed from paper.dropbox.com in order to participate and receive an invitation soon to be part of the evolution of this new service that aims to make things difficult for Google Docs.

A new service that arrives with all intentions of being a collaborative tool that combines perfectly with Dropbox and thus the ecosystem of apps itself is formed as other companies usually have. As we mentioned at the beginning, we will soon have its version on mobile devices, so we will be right here commenting on the new plays.

In relation to Dropbox itself, just a month ago we were able to access a great novelty.
