Outlook.com has announced a couple of new integrations that many users are sure to celebrate, especially those who use the website. And now Outlook.com integrates with Google Drive and Facebook photos. Microsoft had integrated its own option for the cloud storage with OneDrive in Outlook.com, so for users who prefer Google Drive, this integration is ideal.
It also shows that the integration of the most popular services in the competitor's own apps is going to be something we will get used to as the years go by, and that "closing of borders" of some operating systems is a thing of history. Microsoft is one of the ones that is betting the most for this good relationship between companies that could almost pull their hair out a few years ago.
Microsoft clarifies that Outlook mobile apps offer support for Box, Dropbox and Google Drive. It is the latter that is an active part of the cloud storage capacity in Outlook.com, so you can easily share photos to Facebook from Outlook.
To add your Google Drive account to Outlook, you only need start a new message and then click on the attachments icon. There you must select Google Drive and enter the account information. Once this is done, then Google Drive will appear as a source for attaching files.
Users are able to browse and select files from a list or thumbnail view. The way Google Doc, Slide or Sheet is seen with Outlook has also been updated as well as you can see the images. Another of the small virtues that have been integrated is the ease of attaching files to conversations. All of these features are available for Outlook on the web accounts.
