Oppo has a new device on its hands, and it's the smartphone Oppo Reno A, one that has been launched only for the Japanese market and which is expected to soon become official in other countries and regions.
This one is loaded with features and competent technical specifications to dive fully into the mid-range segment of Android and try to take a good share of the competition in that country.
All about the Oppo Reno A
This terminal makes use of a AMOLED screen with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution and 6.4-inch diagonal. The slim panel format, of course, is a slim 19.5: 9 ratio. In turn, the glass that protects it is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the notch that it has has a water drop shape. Surrounding bezels, on the other hand, are sparse, and that's welcome, producing a 91% screen-to-body ratio. It has the fingerprint reader integrated in the screen.
The Snapdragon 710, an eight-core 11nm processor, comes to life in the guts of this mobile along with a 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage space. The battery that causes all functions is 3,600 mAh capacity and, as expected, it has support for fast charging.
Regarding other features and functions, the Reno A also has NFC with support for contactless payments for transactions by FeliCa and it has support for dual SIM (nano only), Bluetooth 5.0, dual band Wi-Fi and OTG. The Reno A also has an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating.
There are two cameras on the back of the Reno A: a 16 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. The phone has up to 22 scene recognitions and 416 automatic scene settings, so your photos turn out well. The selfie camera is a 25 MP AI sensor with beauty mode and portrait mode.

The Reno A is available in Japan starting today at select stores. The phone can be purchased for 35,800 yen or around 300 euros or 330 dollars.. It is not yet known whether or not it will reach the West and elsewhere in the future.
