In a recent development Oppo confirmed something that was already being speculated before. The company revealed information that details that the mobile platform that will enhance the Reno 3 Pro is the Snapdragon 765G, Qualcomm's new chipset that comes with integrated support for 5G networks and gaming capabilities.
Now, the Chinese firm has detailed through a recent page that the standard version of the long-awaited series, which is the Reno 3, will feature the new and still unknown Mediatek chipset, which comes under the name of Dimension 1000L 5G And, as the name implies, it also offers support for 5G networks.
The Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC has yet to be announced by Mediatek, but it is possible that it will be formally announced the same day of the launch of the Oppo Reno 3 series or even shortly before. This is also known under the nomenclature of «MT6885».
Thanks to the result of the Reno 3 that recently appeared on the AnTuTu platform, it was revealed that the aforementioned chipset features the Mali-G77 GPU. No further details are known about it, but it is expected to come with Cortex-A77 cores. Be that as it may, it appears to offer less performance than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G is capable of, and we pointed this out because it will be located under the hood of the more trimmed phone variant and not in the Pro. Still, it would be a mid-range chipset that would offer very optimal performance.
The page also reveals that the Oppo Reno 3 has a thickness of 7.96 millimeters in its bodyor, but nothing is said about whether it has the same battery capacity than Reno 3 Pro, which is 4,035 mAh. In addition to the latter, we predict that it will arrive with support for fast charging. Other details will be confirmed and revealed later when they come out.
