Just as we had previously informed, based on notice, Oppo today unveiled its new photographic technology. As such, we speak of 10X lossless optical zoom that the firm has developed and that was unveiled today at an event in China.
The new technology is a follow-up to the 5X Precision Optical Zoom that was unveiled at MWC 2017. It is is focused for the use of smartphones, so it is likely that we will see some Oppo models with this feature in the course of the year.
The new 10x Hybrid Optical Zoom use three cameras instead of two. It has added a wide camera to the dual camera setup plus a telephoto lens for the main camera of the 5X Precision Optical Zoom. The ultra-wide angle camera sits above the ultra-clear main camera, while the telephoto lens maintains its periscope setting. The new design provides a Zoom range of 15.9mm to 159mm.
Oppo says it has also added optical image stabilization to the ultra-clear main camera and periscope telephoto camera. The manufacturer has not said anything about the focal aperture of these, which is very important for the final output. However, he promised that he will reveal a working sample of the camera at MWC 2019.
The company also added that New 10x Hybrid Optical Zoom technology is ready for series production, so this could end in the launch of OPPO phones this year, as we well said. The work sample at MWC 2019 could even be a smartphone.
This is only the beginning of the year and you can be sure that competitors will also announce their own new camera technologies. We can't wait to see Oppo's new camera Zoom technology in action and how it compares to existing ones.
