Opera Max is updated with a bit strange functionality

Opera Max

Two weeks ago There was quite a stir with that update on the free ES File Explorer option, one of the file explorers most loved by the Android community, which integrated an option on the lock screen that sold a certain feature but came with a lot of publicity. Something that many users did not like.

Opera has been updated with a new version a little strange on the Google Play Store that brings with it a feature called "Boots v2.0" in the form of a button. This is supposed to optimize certain apps to save data on the consumption that we can do from the 3G / 4G connection, but once that functionality has been completed, the happy advertising appears suddenly.

A few months ago we learned that Opera would be about to be bought by Chinese investors for 1.200 million dollars, so possibly this new form of monetization, by integrating new advertising using a feature that was already active in this browser, will have to do with that possible restructuring of the company.

The funny thing is that this new button does not do anything new, since the app resource optimization It was already integrated, but the novelty really is that when you press the button, an advertisement appears when the improvement of the data use of certain applications has been made.

We will stand by the expectation that we see how this app circulates in other spaces and get closer to that QuickPic and that ES File Explorer that have taken other paths since they passed into other hands. What we have left is a bit of a bitter taste with these apps that we had great affection for and we have seen how, based on new updates, they have come to offer another user experience, the one that we fell in love with when we started our way on Android years ago.

This new option of Opera Max 2.0 not available in our country, so we'll see if Opera will finally release it in the final version.
