A couple of weeks ago, Benson Leung, a Google hardware engineer on the Pixel team, reviewed several of the USB Type-C cables and adapters available on Amazon. Leung found that not all of these USB Type-C cables are created equal and that some could even damage your devices or accessories. In a post on Google+, Leung warned that the USB Type-C cable that comes with the OnePlus 2 can damage certain types of USB accessories.
OnePlus has now responded to the problem that power can pose to the user damage your USB accessories if you use this Type-C cable. In the answer he comments how the charger works perfectly to give enough power to the OnePlus 2, but it must be known that this cable does not have the USB Type-C standard that ensures that the adapter works with third-party devices such as those USB accessories. A quite serious problem, since any user can use this charger to charge other devices, so it is important that OnePlus quickly put a solution and this would be the refund.
OnePlus acknowledging the error

OnePlus has started with the steps to replace the cable including the value correct resistance, since the existing one uses 10kΩ instead of a value of 56kΩ. That at least affirms the existing fault in its cable is something to start with, and if you already replace the cable, it may contain the criticisms that it could begin to receive if that OnePlus 2 had reached more users, since we are still in those weeks that invitations are arriving to users who want to buy it.
Solving doubts
What is clear is that the OnePlus cable can be use for Type-C to Type-C upload and for what it would be to charge the OnePlus 2 phone. In other devices, such as those USB accessories, it would take too much current when using some charging ports that do not offer their own regulation, which can potentially cause damage to them.

Another of OnePlus' recommendations is to check that the charger has been certified by CE, CCC or UL, and therefore look at the logo. What this means is that the charger should have your own regulated circuit that prevents the damage it could cause.

European and North American customers can request it from this link on their website, which can be processed through PayPal. Customers in India and China should approach a OnePlus support center for the exchange.
