OnePlus surprised us all recently. It was in July when the Chinese manufacturer of the technology group BBK launched, for the first time in its history, a medium-performance terminal. It is worth noting that, as is common wisdom, the brand has only been exclusive to the high-end segment, with mobiles that rely on the latest and most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets every year.
It has been with him OnePlus North, to be more specific, which ventured into said range, which is more affordable for most users. This smartphone arrived with a mid-high range SoC, which is known as Snapdragon 765G, one already widely used by premium range phones that offer high performance and an optimal user experience. Well then, this device looks like it will have a younger brother shortly, something we talk more about below.
OnePlus will soon launch a mobile with a Snapdragon 690 chip
This comes to us as something unexpected, without a doubt. It was to be expected that the Asian company would continue in the mid-range market, and with Qualcomm as its main ally.
Has been the portal XDA-Developers the one who sent us this news, which recently emerged like a bomb. Per se, it was discovered on Geekbench that OnePlus is working on a terminal with Exynos 690 And, although this is not dubbed as a Nord mobile, this is how it is currently referred to, something that indicates that it could be launched soon as a minor variant of the already known OnePlus Nord that we can now have.
Going through some lines of code in the OxygenOS 10.5 firmware available on OnePlus Nord, references have been found to a OnePlus phone codenamed 'Billie'. As shown in the following screenshot, the inscribed "isSM6350Products" was associated with model names such as "BE2025", "BE2026", "BE2028" and "BE2029".
The "sm6350" being named is the part number for the Snapdragon 690 mobile platform that debuted in June. OnePlus phones that are targeting different markets have different model numbers. So it looks like 'BE2025', 'BE2026', 'BE2028' and 'BE2029' are model names / numbers of the upcoming OnePlus Nord phone powered by the SDM690 chip, something that could be a pretty strong indicator of its imminent launch. .
Of course, it must be taken into account that, on the part of the company, there is no official information that even suggests said existence of the mobile, so this information must be taken very carefully so as not to get carried away by expectations that could be false. However, it would be a strange move if OnePlus, after having debuted in the mid-range with a mobile that has generated very good reviews, does not continue to venture into this segment with other mobiles in that category.
On the other hand, based on what was discovered in other lines of code, it is pointed out that This mysterious OnePlus device would arrive in two variants of RAM and ROM, to which we already forecast two respective models of 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB.
With respect to the Snapdragon 690, this chipset has an eight-core configuration that is divided into two combos, one with a high performance of two cores at 2.0 GHz and the other with efficiency at 1.7 GHz. This has shown a high performance in the tests of Antutu, with a score of approx. 320 thousand points, a figure that makes it proof of everything and capable of running any app and game with total fluidity and performance.
It is to be expected that OnePlus will opt for this chipset for its next mobile, as it has somewhat more trimmed features than those found in the Snapdragon 765G, which is the one that the OnePlus Nord carries under its hood. Therefore, this terminal would be cheaper, since its starting price would be between 300 and 350 euros. In turn, other characteristics in it would be minor, but we hope that the 90 Hz AMOLED panel will remain,
In the same way, what has already been raised is nothing more than simple speculation. Before continuing to let the imagination run wild, we need more reports that confirm the existence of this unknown terminal or that the company officially disclose it in some way.
