OnePlus launches the first beta of Android 10 for the OnePlus 5 and 5T

OnePlus has always been characterized by being one of the manufacturers that offers the most updates to its devices, and is always usually one of the first to update its most modern terminals to new versions of Android, a movement that is delaying updates to older terminals which are still receiving support from the manufacturer.

Last October, OnePlus announced that it would release an Android 10-based OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T in the second quarter of 2020. At the moment, it appears that it has delivered on its promise, as has just launched the first beta of Android 10 for both terminals, so in a few weeks, we will be able to enjoy Android 10 in the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

If you want to start test the first beta of OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T you can go over with the OnePlus support community and download the firmware corresponding to your model. Unlike the regular beta versions, those who install the beta will receive the rest of the updates via OTA for the rest of the beta versions that are released and finally they will receive the final version that is released for all OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T terminals.

Keep in mind that when installing the first beta, all data from our terminal will be lost, so we must previously make a backup of all our data before installing it. The rest of the updates that are released for Android 10 for these terminals, will not entail the deletion of any of the data that we have stored in our terminal.

Both the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T were launched in 2017 with Android Pie 7.1.1. When you get OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10, this It will be the last update of an Android version that both terminals will receive. If you have any of these models, it may be advisable to start thinking about renewing our smartphone for a more modern one and keep a high update cycle.

It is not true that when installing the first beta all the terminal data is lost. Do not miss anything. The installation is done by "local upgrade" and the system is updated without losing all the terminal data.
