The latest update of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro brings back the "Hide notch" function

The OnePlus 7 y 7 Pro they are deserving of a new firmware package that adds several improvements and adds something that the company stopped offering to these models.

Few users choose to add a notch bar on their devices today, but there are. Some of these are from OnePlus and unfortunately the company stopped offering this option to the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro, but it has already brought it back thanks to the new update that we are now talking about.

Note that the update is being offered via OTA and gradually, so you may not have received it yet. Here's the full changelog:

System

• Added notch area display option in Settings (Settings -> Display -> Notch display -> Hide notch area).
• The launch speed of some applications has been improved.
• Optimized RAM management.
• Optimized black and white screen issues with some apps.
• System stability improved and general bugs fixed.
• Android security patch updated to 2019.11.

Camera

• Improved image quality.

OnePlus is also rolling out an open beta update for both devices. The beta update brings an optimized charging feature that is supposed to improve battery performance. The full changelog for the beta update is below:

• Optimized RAM management.
• Fixed issue with auto-record toasting messages in contact app.
• Fixed wrong time format in status bar.
• System stability improved and general bugs fixed.

Reading mode

• Added color effect option to intelligently adapt color range and saturation for better reading experience (Settings -> Display -> Reading mode -> Enable reading mode -> Color effect).

You must have the respective smartphone connected to a stable and high-speed Wi-Fi network to download and then install the new firmware package, in order to avoid unwanted consumption of the provider's data package. It is also vitally important to have a good battery level to avoid any possible inconvenience during the installation process. Keep all of this in mind and nothing will go wrong.
