The OnePlus 5 sweeps the Galaxy S8 and Xperia XZ Premium on Geekbench

OnePlus 5

OnePlus is preparing for the launch of a new flagship shortly and it seems that the device has just appeared in a first benchmark, where the OnePlus 5 has achieved a higher score than the Galaxy S8 and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

The OnePlus 5 achieved a score of 1963 in the single-core test and 6687 points in the multi-core test, thus surpassing the scores of other flagships on the market. The screenshot with the result of this test can be seen below, where you can also see the number of model A5000 and the fact that it runs Android 7.1 Nougat.

It should be noted that there is not a big difference between these three smartphones in terms of their benchmark scores, as the Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium managed to score 1929 and 1943 points in the single-core test, while the results in the multi-core they were 6084 and 5824 points respectively.

The OnePlus 5 will bring the Snapdragon 835 processor

All three devices mentioned in this article are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 mobile platform, so it's no wonder they have similar results. Obviously, performance in real life may vary and it also depends on the RAM of these mobiles.

Both the Galaxy S8 and the Xperia XZ Premium have 4GB of RAM, while the RAM capacity of the upcoming OnePlus device could reach as high as 6GB or even 8GB. Other rumored specifications include a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution and two 12-megapixel lenses in a dual-camera setup on the rear. Likewise, the standard operating system will be Android Nougat with the customization layer OXYGEN.

The OnePlus 5 will also feature a port USB-C and your battery could be about 4000mAh and it would have support for fast charging Dash Charge 2.0.

As for the launch date, OnePlus could announce its new smartphone at end of June or the beginning of July, although until then surely more information about it will leak.
