Android O will be the last update for the OnePlus 3

Oneplus-3

Last year both the OnePlus 3 like the OnePlus 3T. They initially came with Android 6.0 M when they were later upgraded to Android 7.1 Nougat. And now we know that in 2018 they will receive Android O, although it will be the last update of these models.

And it is that the company's product manager, Oliver Z., has confirmed that both the OnePlus 3 and the OnPlus 3T will receive Android O but they are not going to offer any more major updates.

Android P will not reach the current OnePlus

OnePlus 3

Oliver has stated in a support forum that Android O will be the last version of Android that they will launch for the OP3 and the 3TAlthough they will continue to publish security updates and update their own Apps, Android P will not make an appearance on these models.

If we do calculations, el OnePlus 3 arrived in June last year So they will have offered a total of two years of support, but in the case of the OnePlus 3T things look worse since it was presented in November so its support will remain in 18 months. Within the limit set by Google but disappointing anyway.

It is not known when Google will release the new update to Android P, but most likely it will arrive in November 2018, so it is clear that the OnePlus team will not bother to update their current terminals to this version. Also Oliver Z. has also confirmed that now its developers will be more focused on the first few months to release updates for the OnePlus 5, with the intention of troubleshooting and adding new features on your new phone.

Bad news for users of a OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T who already know almost certainly that they will not be able to enjoy Android P. Although everything can change in the crazy world of telephony. Not to mention the cooked ROMS ...
